This is how you learn to make apps: By making apps

Your customers can talk about themselves better than you will ever do

That's the whole point of interviewing them

You can then use their words to make much better marketing materials

I added an affiliate program to GenerateAds last week, and one of my affiliates has already made $203 from it!

I guess I need to focus more on affiliates 😄

The best way to learn about your customers is to shut up and let them talk about themselves and their problems

Seeing users reporting bugs makes me happy

Because it means:

- I have customers
- They use the app
- They care enough to want it to be fixed

Much better than having perfect code with no users

Those ads alone grew my previous startup from $0 to $1,000 MRR

No videos, no fancy design, just a simple static ad

It worked because:
- I knew who the target audience was
- The ad was talking about them and their problems
- I had a good landing page/funnel

My roadmap for GenerateAds is just adding every feature my users ask for + making better ads

Someone asked to be able to fill in project data by uploading a file
It's now available for all users!

The B2B SaaS I sold a month ago was stuck at $100 MRR for almost 8 months

It all changed when I added a proper onboarding

The most important part:
Don’t send users to a basic “signup” page.
It’s boring, and it feels like they’re just giving you their email and will get spammed

👉 Instead, I did:

If you use a Mac, you can use the Dictation key on your keyboard to give your instructions to Cursor with your voice

I don't know why I haven't tried that before, 100x faster than typing long and specific instructions

Am I the only one who gets random messages like this on my support chat? 🥲
March 17, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Oh sheet! 10,000 YouTube subscribers in 3 videos!

Thanks, everyone 🤩

No idea what video will be next tho, I have nothing planned yet

- ✅ Improved the textures
- ✅ Added basic lighting system
- ❌ Underwater system

Not much but took me almost half the day, Claude is really good but still not perfect when used with Godot

A few users asked for an easy way to browse the ads in AdsTemplate so I made a browser with search filters 😄

Babe wake up, a new spam method just dropped

The full story of how I made Talknotes in a week and sold it for $200,000 one year later 🧐

It covers:
- 💡 How I got to the idea
- 🤝 Getting my first customers
- 📈 Growing the app (and burning out)
- 💸 Selling it

Took me more 8+ months to finish it, but it's finally here! 😃

Made my day! 😃

I don't tweet much about TestIt.so, but it gets users every few days without doing much marketing!

This simple ad generated $2300 in just a few days 🤑

- $200 ad spend
- Cost per purchase: $22 💸
- Average ROI: x11.3 🤯
- Cost per click: $0.37
- Click rate: 3.94%

It also costs 2x less than our "regular" ads (It costs $9.90 to show the ad to 1,000 people VS $17 )

Amazon is ugly because it's optimized for conversion, not design

If you see something on Amazon, it's been tested and proven to improve sales.

If you want to make money, optimise for conversion rate, not design

I A/B tested a shiny new onboarding on my app, where users can jump right in, book a demo call or do a guided tour. It looks better and is smoother than my old one.

I assumed it would improve the conversion rate

Turns out, it performs 70% worse than my old onboarding

I’ve delayed the video about Talknote's $200,000 exit for over 6 months now, mainly because I wanted to wait for YouTube to unblock my account

But fuck YouTube monetization, I don’t want to delay it more.

If I don’t publish it before the end of the month, I’ll give $500 to [...]

A few days ago I noticed Cursor has a "Bug Finder" tab that goes through all your current commits and tells you where possible bugs and issues

(in the tabs next to chat and composer)

And holly shit it's good! A few false positives, but it noticed bugs that would have caused big issues later

Started almost 10 years ago and 2024 was the first year where I made good $$ compared to the effort put on

Overnights success doesn’t exist
