If the Democrats forfeit the God-sent coincidence of Medicare re-enrollment period and shut-down negotiations they are idiots.

Nothing could be more predictable than the infantile "Dems must choose Spangenberger or Mamdani" wave + it hides a tremendous opportunity. If the two model working together on fighting on the vertical anti-extraction axis, while productively engaging each other on the "left/right", Dems win.

Trump last night extolled the Golden Age he has ushered in to, e.g., the "steel mills of Pittsburgh", unaware that there are no steel mills in Pittsburgh and only one mill in the metropolitan area.

Not that you asked, but Trump is desperate to hold onto tariff control not because of good policy, or even revenue to offset tax cuts, but because autonomous control gives him an endless supply of lunatic announcements to dominate news cycles, distract, and give appearance of doing something.

This is not Boomer nostalgia; I'm a Boomer by birth, but completely free of nostalgia for my peers and the period.
But the students have to hit the streets. The possibility of living the next 50 years under the rule of Stephen Miller ought to be incentive enough.

As "Comey is not above the law" is vomited up from DOJ, White House, etc., wouldn't this be an appropriate time to look at the Pardons and Commutations list? These are not independent issues.

I hope someone can explain to me why the Democrats are not calling, unanimously, loudly, and continuously, for Tom Homan's firing. "I didn't do anything illegal" when you have $50,000 cash in a grocery bag = "rigged game" even when not a crime.

Tom Homan's defense (defense!) is a nice reminder of George Washington Plunkett of Tammany Hall: "I seen my opportunities and I took 'em."
What could be wrong with that.

The thing to remember when you watch ABC executives cancel Kimmel, etc., is that we have a structure in which the executives are less frightened by FCC, more terrified of each other. The fear that internal rivals will leverage Trumpian force for career ending purposes is endemic.

It would be a service if mainstream media published a roster of pardoned and their connections.
Corruption scandals have occurred in past administrations, but the scale and brazenness of pardons and other favorable legal treatment under the second Trump administration stands out.
