2025 so horrible I’m reading Emma Thompson’s 1995 diaries about shooting a movie set in 1795.

Great googly moogly for the umpteenth feckin' time, people, I beg:

Me: My house is a mess. But I've got some good ideas for my WIP--gotta write while my inspiration is cooking.
Relative who knows nothing about the fraught writing process: Can't you just leave off writing for a bit, take a quick hour to clean?
Me: *dissolves into a puddle of incredulous laughter*

Last month I turned down a job that wouldn't pay enough for me to live on. Five days ago, and EVERY DAY SINCE, I've received an email from Indeed informing me that I was not selected for the job and the company was moving ahead with other candidates. This is my villain origin story.

And in today's installment of Authors Not Trusting Their Instincts...TMW you realize, as you restructure your draft for the thousandth time, that your "fixes" are looking a whole lot like what you wrote in the first damn draft. 🤦‍♀️

I'm sorry, I can't work anymore today. Something wrong with the system. Yes, I know it's pen and paper but I'm telling you it's nonoperational.

Just noticed another bad side effect of climate change. Neighbor's lawn service showed up with their leaf blowers. Anything they missed in the fall should be covered by at least two feet of snow at this point, but nooooo. Extra noise pollution instead!

It's not about right vs. left or the haves vs. the have-nots. It's about people in cold climates who raise their car wipers before a snowfall vs. "Dude, that's just stupid."

One of my cats has found the lever that raises and lowers my desk chair and is now whacking at it to get my attention because she's decided it's time for dinner. So that's how my work-from-home job is going.

Photographer 1: Just took this photo.
Photographer 2: Awesome. Did you use the Z300 Conflagration 45Kerf250?
Photog 1: No, although that's a good one. For this I used the 7Whompadoodle 3000 with a 1030XQ Cephalopod Bananagram 009Bangzoom.
Me: Purty pitcher.

This won’t end well. How did she even get up there? And balance?

I sounded a lot like RFK Jr. for more than a year (paralyzed vocal cord—had surgery and now sound somewhat normal), so I ask you not to criticize his voice, which—as I well know—is something beyond his control. But his ideas? Rip him to shreds for those. And his overlord Coral Caligula too.

Interesting NewMoon energy--a family of six raccoons (mama and five bebes) scooted into my backyard, paused, thought about it, and scooted back out again the way they came in. Oh no--was my yard found wanting? What do you need, my little bandits? I'll get it for you--just say the word! 🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝

Favorite game: "woman/women" autocomplete roulette. Start typing and see what you end up with! "A women"? Let it fly! "Many woman"? Why the hell not? Bonus if the correct version is used in one sentence and the incorrect version in the next. Also why does this never happen with "man/men"? 🤔

Confession: I am not, in fact, screaming. Or crying. Definitely not throwing up. None of this has ever happened. In fact, most of the time I'm not even LOLing, let alone LMAOing. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused and doubly sorry for any lack of trust this may inspire in the future.
