I am reading a memo about what to do if ICE comes to my classroom and putting the emergency numbers into my phone and I am so angry that we are back in this situation again.

Here is my father at 94. He and my mother still live in the house that he built six decades ago.

Holiday pet peeve: when friends or relatives send cards to my house addressed "Mr. and Mrs. Husband's FirstName and LastName." HOW IS IT THAT THEY DON'T KNOW MY NAME? Are they leaving it off deliberately? Do they think I've gone into the Witness Protection Program? WTF? #SexistTraditions

When I was a baby, my mother took her kids outside every single day even in the winter because she thought fresh air would be good for us. Now that she’s in her 90s, I try to do the same with her, no matter how cold it is.

An important read. I like that she proposes a solution. Time to buy some scotch tape. #FightWithFacts

Once my students found out that I was gluten-free, they started stealing gluten-free brownies from the dining hall for me. I'm ready for the semester to end so that I can relax and enjoy the holidays, but I'm going to miss those brownies. #IHaveTheBestStudents #CampusLife

For her book launch party, Robin Kimmerer invited friends and family to her neighbor's Christmas tree farm, provide delicious food and champagne, and gave us all free books. Then she sat in Santa's chair and read to us. That was the best part.

I'm new to Bluesky, and I find myself following people who post photos of books that I loved as a child, and that feels like a solid choice to me.

My daughter-in-law made me this hat for Halloween, but I think I might just wear it for the next four years. It’s a vibe.

My father (age 93) keeps losing friends he's had since high school and college. One close friend died last week at the age of 97. This morning, Dad received a letter his friend had dictated on his deathbed. It was beautiful and heart-breaking. "It's hard to be the last one left," said my Dad.

A lot of people have shared this poem over the past week. It’s a sentiment I think about a lot, especially now.

I hope everyone is doing what they need to take care of themselves. One step at a time. One day at a time.
