I’m ALSO a former mathematician (well… does BS with honors + years of tutoring count…?)

Have been tutoring again lately and loving it, thinking a lot about starting a new “study math w/ me” stream!

And here are a couple of free minimalist productivity apps I’m super proud of:

- pixelist.app is a GitHub-style habit tracker before it was cool

- mujo.app is a task-tracker/time-tracker/journal/metronome for musicians

And I’ve got another one in the oven!

Aight, I’m gonna try a blend of content on this one; we’re all ✨ multidimensional humans! ✨

Hi! I’m Jon, an iOS software engineer and a classical guitarist.

Here’s a recent live performance I’m super proud of. I’m vlogging as I privately study at a conservatory-ish level.

OK if Twitter and IG brainwashed you into thinking hashtags are ugly,

You can use DECK.BLUE to put HIDDEN, TUMBLR STYLE hashtags in your posts. The regular BSky site/app can't see them, but they work in search and feeds.
Testing something... Smth BSky related

Y'all why did bsky start blowing up? Is it Elon+Trump or some product change? Whatever it is, thank god, this seems like a great space. Super bullish on fediverse.

Also using NavigationPath to push directly to the practice/metronome view after user adds a new exercise. Found a ~hack~ clever way to kick iOS 17 SwiftData migration down the road, while improving UX. Also refactored a shitload to get the “tap-tempo” tool in the mini metronome, and started TCA.

We got some sweet updates in 1.10. I learned how to SwiftUI `path.append(…)`, and now we’re pushing directly to the metronome iff one exercise exists. This improves NUX bc Mujo now has one predefined, “Untitled practice”. Users can now ignore the practice list if they just want metronome+timers.

Also, the full take on YouTube. Learning a lot about marketing/video editing in all of this!

Here’s a little 53-second ad for Mujo, my new metronome / practice journal app. It’s heavily edited down from a 4:30 single take, how does it flow? The target platform is Instagram/TikTok/YouTube Shorts
