I'm looking forward to my first talk of the year in PARCC next week. I'll be sharing insights from my book project on the relationship between 20th century federal policies, organized abandonment, and institutional gentrification in Black communities.

I read 33 books in 2024. Some of my favorites were South to America, Black Folk: The Roots of the Black Working Class, We Refuse: A Forceful History of Black Resistance, Chain-Gang All-Stars, American Daughters, Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine and Knife.

I am grateful for my time in Nola attending #ABWH2024. I've been in a funk the past few weeks after receiving a job rejection. I'm leaving New Orleans feeling inspired, poured into, and hopeful about what's on the horizon.
