Feb. '26 print set

Adding silkscreening into the toolbox has been on my list for a while but the process of burning screens has always been a hurdle with the home studio setup. Using heat transfer vinyl in lieu of emulsion really makes it much more accessible.

I've done smaller pieces with folds in the process but these are my first larger pieces. The simplest move is to fold, flatten the paper back out, and allow the texture to impact the plot.

Hey Neil, pic is all the materials I used for these, B-sky has a 4 picaximum. I'd recommend the DeArtamentis for a good CMYK combo. I have their 'fuscia' that I use for the 'M' part
Yellow = DeAtramentis Yellow
Red = Noodler's Fox Red
Blue = DeAtramentis Cyan
Black = Platinum Carbon Black

First print set of '26.
I haven't worked with fountain pens in a while as I've been enjoying working with Signo gel pens. In 2025 I learned a lot about tone creation via line spacing so excited to see what is possible with the large variety of fountain pen inks.

Proof sheet #2 for the January print set. Switching to broad nib fountain pens allows me to significantly scale up my usual spacing. The dye-based inks really saturate the paper too. Enjoying these.

Scaling up to 18"x24" plots has been a challenge. Here's a quick look at all the prints I've made in the 2 months since I got my Bantam Tools ArtFrame. Still not ready for 24"x36" yet. 😄

'Positive'

Plotted 4 different color schemes of this piece. All done with Bic pens on paper. Pieces are mounted in some simple wood frames and will be available on 12/19 at a show at Discodelic Records in SF to benefit anti-ICE efforts. Flyer in comments.

I've been admiring the amazing tones that @lb-allix.bsky.social gets out Bic pens. Turns out they make more colors than black and blue these days and they still get that amazing sheen when you pack the ink in.

Picked up some Bic Cristal pens, really like the softer tones they create. Need to increase the pressure a bit as it took multiple passes to get down the amount of ink I wanted but they are nice to work with.

I set up a new file but stopped short of plotting it. Guess I gotta give the people what they want 😂.

Thanks! I like the bottom section but not sure about the top. Here's a slightly closer pic.

Some recent 18"x24" plots. Not my favorite pieces of late but there are some good moments in some of these.

Now that I can plot larger I'm looking for a piece to be my first edition of 18"x24" prints. Here are some plots from this week, a mix of old files and new pens.

My first 18"x24" plot in the garage with the new ArtFrame 2436. I can go twice as big once I get some paper and build a flat file to store all these large prints.

Nov '25 Print Set

Normally for my monthly print set I have to plot a bunch of 5"x7" designs to find ones I like. Lately I'm only setting up 11"x15" files so I cropped out 3 sections of a recent print (pic 2) to make the set.
