@paulkaminski.bsky.social This niche video might be up your alley. This YouTuber gives a pretty good argument on why Paul was actually the bassist on "Old Brown Shoe" and not George (and the part was probably played on his hofner).

I remember talking about classic rock in my driver's ed class and laughing when the instructor was arguing that Van Halen was not old enough to be classic rock. My response was "Their music is 20 years old. Of course it's old enough."

Anyways, 2006 is officially classic. Cheers to teenage me 🥂

@shadowtodd.bsky.social Here's a recent article on Joni Mitchell's most 80s album from the producer of the album (this is not me suggesting this as a video, I just thought you might enjoy it): jonimitchell.com/library/view...

It's funny to me how weird of an effect the talk-box is for guitar. It's like "what if we had a really shitty quality amp inside your mouth right up against the microphone to replicate the sound of talking while using an electric toothbrush?" Yet, despite the odds, it works sometimes.

I made a list of my 25 favorite comfort movies. Some are critical darlings but most are either films I can just vibe with or are nice little 90s minute flicks. Also lots of fun simple premised action/sci fi movies.

Fun fact: If you listen very closely to the piano ringing out at the end of A Day in the Life, you can very faintly hear a hipster saying "Sgt. Pepper isn't even the best Beatles album."

Spotify's music video integration is genuinely one of the best features they've added in years. How did it take them so long to add this?

Mark my words, this song will make a big come back and will be considered a mainstream 90s songs within the next 20 years.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is the movie that Marvel wants all of their post End Game movies to be. Genuinely one of the best movies of the last 10 years.

Social media is in such a weird spot right now. X is bots, Facebook has been abandoned by sane people, Instagram is too limited in what you can post, reddit is astroturfed to hell, and everything else is either too algorithmically contrived or too unpopular (Bluesky) to actually feel social.

I was pleasantly surprised by Spinal Tap II. While, not as iconic as the original, it was still a lot of fun. I was afraid it would be mostly cameos and call backs but it ended up being maybe 25% of the film. That other 75% was consistently funny and the new characters are all great additions.

It's crazy how many different people have covered "Come Together" and absolutely none of them come close to topping the Beatle version. Covers either get too groovy, too gritty, or too heavy. The original really was such a perfect balance of all those elements.

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie was a perfectly fine love letter to the Looney Tunes that will be totally forgotten the next time a person makes a love letter to the Looney Tunes in 10 years.

In the 90s, due to a huge boost in nostalgia for the Looney Tunes, we got a few theatrical shorts. This clip is from Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers, in which all of Bugs's enemies are replaced with flat badly drawn pale stereotypes of the characters.

You would think after hearing Thriller a decent amount of times that I would have noticed the line "You're a vegetable/Still, they hate you/You're a vegetable/You're just a buffet/You're a vegetable/They eat off of you/You're a vegetable, ow!" at least one time. Great opener but also lol
