Starfield is rumored to be in the works for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2, but the reported Switch 2 version has been delayed or may never be released at all, according to a report. There have been rumors about Starfield coming to PlayStation 5 for some time now, but Bethesda has yet to confirm any of them. Now, a leaker has put forth a report that Starfield will finally get its PS5 port near the beginning of April with two versions of the game. According to Polish site PPE.pl (via Video Games Chronicle), a leaker who goes by Graczdari has stated that Starfield will hit PS5 on April 7 with standard and deluxe editions. Graczdari has previously leaked correct information about The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered's physical release, as well as ports for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Switch 2 and PS5, respectively. Considering the flow of formerly exclusive Xbox games that arrived on PS5 in 2025, it was surprising that Starfield wasn't among them. It's been rumored that Microsoft and Bethesda held off until an additional story DLC was ready to be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC as well. Some of Starfield's new features were recently disclosed during a closed-door preview. Valve clearly feels confident in the power of the upcoming Steam Machine. The company has revealed that in testing for the system, "the majority of Steam titles play great at 4K 60fps with FSR," per a new blog post about Steam hardware. For those unfamiliar with FSR, the acronym stands for FidelityFX Super Resolution and in the most basic sense helps upscale image quality. Of course, "most" games doesn't mean "all." As such, Valve adds there will be Steam Machine games that "require more upscaling than others, and it may be preferable to play at a lower frame rate with VRR to maintain a 1080p internal resolution." No specific games are mentioned, and there's no way to predict how future titles may perform on the Steam Machine. The company is currently focused on HDMI VRR (variable refresh rate, which helps to smooth out performance), upscaling improvements, and "optimizing ray-tracing performance in the driver" for the Steam Machine. When Steam Machine actually becomes available to buy is still up in the air. In the same blog post, Valve stated that Steam Machine pricing and release details have been delayed because of memory and storage shortages. During today's Nintendo Partner Direct, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment in the FF7 Remake trilogy, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3. Soon after, the company released a standalone trailer for the Switch 2 edition with a nifty little bonus: Physical editions of the game will include a Magic: The Gathering promo card featuring artwork from Tetsuya Nomura himself. The promo card is a reprint of Zack Fair's legendary creature card from Magic's Final Fantasy expansion, which released last summer. The promo version, however, will feature the same artwork of Zack that appears on the cover of the Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth Material Ultimania encyclopedia. Amid an ongoing global memory shortage driven by AI companies, will the PS5 console see another price hike? Sony isn't saying yes or no to that question, but it has confirmed it has a supply of memory to meet demand for PS5 consoles throughout 2026. "As for securing a supply of memory, we are already in a position to secure the minimum quantity necessary to manage the year-end selling season of next fiscal year--October to December 2026," Sony CFO Lin Tao said (via This Week in Videogames). "Going forward, we intend to further negotiate with various suppliers to secure enough supply to meet the demand of our customers." The ongoing memory chip shortage issues are impacting Nvidia's production now, with the company reportedly planning to delay its new gaming GPU cards this year. According to The Information (via Sherwood News), Nvidia is pushing the release of its new graphics cards this year to meet the demands for AI processors. Two people The Information spoke to said that, as the company delays its new GPUs, the plan is to leverage its limited memory chip supply to keep up with calls for more AI data centers. Alongside delaying its new GPUs, the sources said that Nvidia will reduce production of its GeForce RTX 50 GPU series due to the memory chip shortages. To close out the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Xbox subsidiary Bethesda showed up to confirm the release dates for Nintendo Switch 2 ports of Fallout 4, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The Bethesda segment began with a message from Todd Howard, who complimented the original Switch before affirming a blowout of Switch 2 support from Bethesda Game Studios this year. The first game to arrive this year will be Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, an ultimate edition of the post-apocalyptic RPG that's launching on February 24. The next port to launch will be Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which originally released as an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive in December 2024. It comes out on May 12, although there's no word on its expansion yet. Finally, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was confirmed to be getting a Switch 2 port about a year out from its surprise launch. Valve's second attempt at launching its Steam Machine is still set to happen in early 2026, according to AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su. In an AMD earnings call, Su specifically mentions support for Valve Steam Machine, which will make use of an AMD processor. "From a product standpoint, Valve is on track to begin shipping its AMD-powered steam machine early this year," Su states, stopping short of giving an exact timeframe. Early 2026 does align with what Valve suggested during the announcement of the Steam Machine, but since then, the company hasn't provided any updates on availability or pricing.
