"And what's that supposed to mean?" She snaps, crossing her arms over her chest, ever so quick to defend the Defender, a very good daughter. Naph bites his tongue and does not lever at her every instance of Jayce waltzing down into Zaun over the last however many years, how much destruction he's caused, how many innocent lives have been lost alongside those he intended to hurt. He does not throw at her how many times Viktor has sustained injury at his ex-partners hand. She'd probably come back with her own statistic - plus, Naph truly has no idea of the numbers. He tried to keep a tally, once, but gave up fairly quickly. Naph pulls back part of his fringe and gestures wildly at the faded scar just above his browbone - a physical reminder of the day Naph and Amaranthine first met. It was an accident, Jayce injuring him, but Naph can't bring himself to care about the finer details right now. Amaranthine splutters for a moment, but then doubles down. She jabs Naph in the chest. "Jayce is not a bad person." "Well, neither is Viktor!" Naph yells. The sound echoes, ricocheting tight off of the metal panelled walls. There's a sudden wetness under Naph's eyes that he struggles to wipe away because more just replaces it. Amaranthine shrinks away from him, away from his voice, from his desperate bid to get rid of his tears before they can spill.

A long-sleeved button-down in deep indigo, a plain white cotton work shirt with polished buttons, and, perched atop the first stack, a gorgeous silk dress shirt in the most delicate shade of pale pink. Beside them lay trousers of varying thickness, patterns, and styles. On the floor rested two pairs of shoes: sturdy work boots and black dress shoes for more formal occasions. Clean underthings, enough to last the week are stacked in a third, and are each folded neatly into halves. And perhaps the most heart-stirring article of them all - a wide-brimmed hat, expertly crafted from light, premium leather and decorated with a satin ribbon in vivid maroon. Viktor could cry. He could burst into tears if he didn't already shed every tear he was capable of the day before. So instead, he grips Jayce's hand tighter, and the larger man takes the simple gesture as an invitation to pull the other man into the solid front of his body and wrap his arms around him. He does it lightly at first, still unsure of what Viktor is willing to offer him, but then Viktor leans all of his weight into his chest and curls his arms around Jayce's to hold him there while he looks. Wordlessly, but no less appreciative, he turns to press his lips to Jayce's bicep, and against his spine he feels the nervous pattern of Jayce's racing heart. "Do you like them?" Jayce asks, and Viktor finds himself at a loss for words.
