My kids have gone to school 1 day out of the last 12. No one is sick, but when you cram in midterms, a couple weather-related closures, and a “new” holiday the stars suddenly align for them. I just wish I had a little more notice.

One highlight of Designation yesterday: Todd Baxter is running for sheriff unopposed on the dem ticket (for now) and got 14/26 votes, with 10 left blank. 2 write-ins: Luigi Mangione and Daniel Prude.

4 years ago I turned on the tv just to watch the democratic process play out. I had no idea how far off the rails the process would go throughout the day. Today I’m turning the tv on again hoping this year goes a little differently.

December 29-30th I slept with my window open. It was the best sleep I’ve had in months. I don’t sleep well with the heater on, but it’s still strange that it was mild enough to have the window open…

I just ate the most delicious breakfast burrito from Montgomery Court solely based on a TikTok review. Before last night I wasn’t aware this place existed even though it’s walking distance from my house. But yeah, ban TikTok for “national security” reasons and ignore the economic impact.

When I was a kid I had zero concept of what healthy boundaries were. Now in my mid-40s I’m realizing how critical they are to, idk, not wanting to curl up in a ball and scream all the time. Teach your kids about healthy boundaries NOW.
