New publication! 🚨

If you're looking for a paper on what great tits eat then this is for you! 🦋🐛🐞🪲🐦

We looked at variation in diet using DNA metabarcoding and found lots of differences between adult and young birds and between habitat types.

PhD opportunity with me (RSPB) at Sheffield Hallam combining ecology (building-nesting birds esp. Swift) + building design & planning (Net Zero goals & retrofit). We need a strong student interested in both! Is that you? url.uk.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/cNyjCR636C... Please repost.

I remember Rebecca giving a seminar when I was in Penryn @universityofexeter.bsky.social on burying beetles and it was excellent. A very well deserved award. #ASABWinter2024

We could be losing a lot of scientific evidence due to it being published in non-English languages. Also likely to be reflected for species with no English language evidence.
An incredibly important topic from Tatsuya Amano.

Great to be at my first winter ASAB. Really interesting plenary this morning on how researcher's perspectives influence our knowledge - particularly looking at females in evolutionary biology. #ASAB24

Fascinating #ASABWinter2024 plenary talk this morning by Malin Ah-King, tracing the history of perception of females in evolutionary science. It took surprisingly long for researchers to discover active female sexual strategies♀️
