It is the first Monday in March.

Once again I have been asked to make screeching eagle noises in a meeting.

Overheard in Cambridge today -
"I didn't know snow melts like this."

(Not on campus -- I assume tourists)

I have a very hard time believing that Mercury is not retrograde right now.

How kind of Philly for throwing us a parade for the kick off of NACA Live. What a treat.

I've done many things this week at work but I'm most proud of this -

I've successfully convinced THREE different colleagues to start playing the Alan Wake video game series and all of the connected games. I feel good about this.

No, I did not feel the Boston earthquake.

But, I did feel elation when my real life archnemesis was booted from a reality show last night.

Was in a meeting this morning and this happened -

Colleague: I'm sure Jason has lots of opinions.

Me: uhhhh. 1997 was a great year for music?

Colleague: No. Not any that.

Me: ummm. 2013 was pretty great for music, too?

Was I wrong?

If we're gonna do this, I should reintroduce.

It's gone. How bizarre.

The collective grief on TikTok right now is simply heartbreaking and unreal.

I tend to post this somewhere once a year. At the time, I thought it was clever satire... But now it feels like a glimpse into higher education's very near future.

How do you spell the noise a screeching bald eagle makes?

Is it a SCREEEEEEEE?
Or, is it more of a KA-CAWWWWWWW?

Or, does it contextually depend based on what said eagle is trying to communicate?

Asking for a friend (me) who has been asked to be more eagle-like this weekend (still me).

Am I allowed to complain about the MBTA here? Are we allowed to have that vibe here?

I have not watched anything other than the Food Network for eight days.

I've managed to avoid any semblance of news or related nonsense for eight days.

Today the algorithm has betrayed my peace. So I guess my sabbatical from the world ends today.

I forgot to share something from a few weeks ago.

Went to Stanford for work. Stayed at a cute hotel downtown. Tucked away on the fourth floor was a plaque that read - Historic site of the Stanford Prison Experiment.

It obviously didn't happen there... BUT WHY WOULD ANYONE PROUDLY DISPLAY THAT.

Yup. We're at that point of the year in higher education.

My next available appointment isn't until the week of September 18.
