Most likely suspects would be agricultural decline in the area, increased job opportunity due to the Industrial Revolution in America—they settled in Pennsylvania for a while so factory work for steel?—and/or overpopulation in the UK.

Oh, it definitely is a rush job. I’m only saying that there are many ways to do this better and still be quick and clean with it, and I know how.
Official or not, this was not done by someone with a firm handle on the design process.

If I had time, I would make something a little more refined, but I’m currently developing three different projects as it is, so I don’t have time. Just got done restoring a logo from scratch.

I suppose, but I think the use of widescreen has made it feel much smaller.
That being said, yeah, there were better ways to handle this. Moreover, you use the letters in the clutter. For a moment, I thought the characters were supposed to represent the letters, but nope.

You know something? I never realized that is what I did not like about the PIXAR logo. It’s so…sparse.

Incidentally ran into this when searching for a specific logo for work. My task now is to recreate it from a shitty JPG I found. Thank god I’m good at what I do.

Honestly, what I did was draw over and over again to see what I can do quickly, and what I need to work on if it is slower.
Turns out it helped a lot with comic pages.
