Someone who works for the government - “everyone’s health premiums go up.” Apparently the federal employee health plans are going to do this as well? Then they said “people who lose their health insurance will have to go to the ER and pay it off a little at a time.” That’s not good for America.

This is the trade off the centrist Dems in the Senate are weighing. Who's going to be angrier? The people who loose their healthcare or the people who will continue to suffer if the shutdown goes into December or even January. This would also allow for the Epstein files to see daylight.

If Senate Dems cave which it looks like they will. What is the reasoning? Do they feel that post-election the shut down served THEIR political purpose and that they don't want to ruin the holidays for people? Do they fear backlash now? Do they feel it could damage 2026 if it goes into January?

I'm in a 1st world country where people laid off in the Trump economy are going to food banks or had their SNAP benefits cancelled. I guess 1st world problems look a lot different these days.

I'm one of those New Yorkers who read the Power Broker cover to cover. The downfall of Trump I feel will be similar to what happened to Robert Moses over time. People turn on you and the press turns on you and I'm not talking about CNN, etc., I'm talking about Fox News.
