Hey #NOLA today is Clay Fest day at The Broadside. It's a free event for all ages :) There are a bunch of artists selling their stuff and there are some demonstrations and stuff. Last time there were some booths for kids to do fun things.

I've been wanting a weber kettle for quick direct cookin' plus I've gotten to experiment with long cooks on my buddies and its pretty nice. I love the flavors of direct heat cookin'.
So, I bought too much meat to cook on my buddy's grill and bought another Weber so we have room lol

ohh cool! My reef lights over my living room tank got a new feature where you can have it monitor an IP address and turn itself off to save backup power if that IP address stops responding. Battery backup power saving mode built into the light. Rad!

Sent one of my devs from work a box of iberico pork as a house warming gift and an apology for doing this to him because he'd never want to eat normal store bought pork again. He cooked his first piece tonight and let me know it was the best piece of pork he's ever had. <3

I ALMOST bought a KellyBronze turkey but even my crazy ass couldn't pull the trigger on a $300 10 pound turkey breast. Though now I'm curious... so maybe for Christmas? ;)

Slacking on stuff, but put in my order for a D'Artagnan green circle bone-in turkey breast to cook at a friend's house for Thanksgiving this year. Should be yummy.

I won't show y'all how terrible and fire hazard-y my bedroom salt water tank power cords and things was. It was incredibly bad and stupidly close to the water storage container for my auto top-off.
One of those temp forever things.
Today I took the first steps to fixing that. Still needs work!

Planning and building out an auto water change system for the living room reef tank. I'm the worst at water changing (not really the worst), but not long ago I did a pretty big water change after not doing one for a while and the swing led to some really upset coral. So.. we automate it.

Y'all.. since we bought this house some of our windows would SQUEAL like crazy. We tried random stuff, but WD-40 is a temporary and usually bad solution for "oiling" things around the house. The other day we remembered we have silicon lube from Rachel rebuilding a knitting machine. No more squeal. ☮️

Phew! What a great day. My buddy smoked some beef short ribs and baby back pork ribs. When the ribs were just about done I put an iberico flank steak over the coals and seared that up for some snackin' pork.
