Double taps are meant to kill first responders and reporters. Even if your (in my opinion im-) morality somehow finds bombing a hospital acceptable, killing those who are attempting to help or report on the wounded and dying is pure evil.

Having grown up on a farm, worked with migrant workers, had family and friends who were migrant workers or sons, daughters, grandkids, etc... of them, I find this absolutely appalling. Hell, I find it absolutely appalling just on a "how we should treat human beings" level.

An important thing to realize about race relations in the US is that there were people alive who had been born into slavery in the US when I was born. And everyone today can talk to people who weren't allowed to sit at lunch counters with each other. Our government still needs to account for this.

This is an excellent series. It is very balanced about various American/Soviet responsibilities and it does a great job of covering history that we aren't usually taught much about in the US (some of it I only learned during my Political Science degree at university). www.netflix.com/title/81614129
For all of you keeping track, I've sold the. house in Boadilla del Monte and moved into a flat in downtown Madrid near Plaza de Cuzco. This neighborhood is incredible. So much to listen to, see, do, eat, drink... I'm exploring daily! (well... after unpacking some boxes in the morning :)

I've realized that I enjoy hearing about what's happening with my friends' lives and discussing politics and current events, but stopped because I no longer wanted to support crappy Silicon Valley companies. Maybe Bluesky will be a better place. Let's see.
