To all the users of {worldfootballR} and the amazing connections I’ve created through that vehicle, I’m sorry to say that {worldfootballR} will no longer be maintained. I’m incredibly proud of it and incredibly thankful all the support I’ve received over the years! github.com/JaseZiv/worl...

I have no spare capacity to continue to maintain this library so I will be taking a step back. Happy for anyone to take this as the bones of a potential version 2 of it and make it their own. Thank...

Huge thanks to Max @squiggle.au for yet another massive year's effort! He puts in a tonne of thankless work so some of us footy modellers can test our models against each other. Was pretty stoked to take out the accuracy award and come second in the margin this season squiggle.com.au/leaderboard/

Haven't posted an update for a while but given the angst getting player valuations are causing, we've pushed an update to version 0.6.8, allowing users the ability to loop through each team instead to fix issues a little easier as they arise #worldfootballR

Hey @squiggle.au, have noticed my ladder sims aren’t updating… is there something you need me to change in my output file?

Hey @squiggle.au, I’ve noticed that my power ratings are appearing as being multiplied by 2… also my away team predictions are showing a negative predicted margin (I submit my tips from the home team perspective)… DM me and I’ll make whichever mods you need. Thanks!

Wild ending in tonight's #NBL25 match between Illawarra and Cairns! Here's how my in-game win probability app saw it - a wild swing. App can be found here nbl-r-shiny.herokuapp.com

After the FIBA break and at the beginning of round 10, here's how my model sees the rest of the #NBL25 season playing out... The model is expecting Melbourne to keep some distance between them and the field www.dontblamethedata.com/models/baske...

bluesky has a cool feature called starter packs - you can create a list of accounts and/or feeds as a recommendation that people can click once to follow.

I've put together the beginnings of one for the footy nerd community on here. Tell me who I've missed (including yourself).

Inspired by a discussion by the #whartonmoneyball podcast team, I decided to see if there was a simple heuristic to determine how much of the remaining regular season was needed to predict MLB playoff outcomes... The following thread will outline one approach /1
