Astonished at the chutzpah of Stagecoach. Having agreed tenders for these winning bids, they contacted CPCA advising it they were withdrawing from these bids. Despite attempts by CPCA to negotiate, Stagecoach maintained their decision to withdraw

Incredibly disappointing we are in this position as at result of an operator withdrawal. Those who live, work and study in affected areas will share our deep frustration.

The CPCA under @mayordrnik.bsky.social has restarted procurement so buses can be put on those routes ASAP.

Arrived at my parents a short while ago. They're not politicos but it turns out they'd had the debate on earlier and my dad said to me 'it was so respectful, why can't it always be like this?'

An incredibly emotive subject, What I've been most struck by is the personal stories of people asking to support the bill - heartbreaking. Please spare a thought for all the staff who have read and responded to every single letter, partic those who due to personal circumstances have found it hard.

A remarkable stat: Heidi Alexander’s appointment as Transport Secretary means the cabinet is now 100% state-educated for the first time in history.

I became interested in politics bec I 'wanted to make the world a better place'. I started a new job in Sept w/a new Labour MP & I keep saying to myself we have to deliver for people, people have to see life improve. The fact that @torstenbell.bsky.social is on the Labour bench gives me real hope.

Fascinating w/ @torstenbell.bsky.social Cambridge Literary Festival. So many good points, but a key reminder - policy does matter. Data now coming through on Sure Start shows abolition was a bad move. Closing youth centres leads to higher crime. Policy takes times, but makes a difference.

Sigh - classic fact free nonsense. ‘news’ story here totally fails to mention that Tory plans were for fines of £5k (later reduced to £3k) for each missed heat pump sale. What @Ed_Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”
