Note to Self: Ask friends if it’s time to go back to Apple—this time, an iPhone. In the 90s, I was a Mac-person, but when I needed a new computer, I chose a PC after seeing most software for work was for PC (at J&R in NYC). It was emotional! Times have changed. I just dropped my Pixel 6. So… iPhone?

Note to Self: Incorporate the concept of “We cannot successfully engage with people whose inner lives we do not even try to understand,” and more from the recent report from the Roosevelt Institute into our work with executive teams.

Note to Self: Reach out to Brian Christian, author of The Most Human Human—one of the most insightful books of our time, and it was written in 2011! Love to ask him to be the Thought Leader for our First Friday calls with our global community advancing team effectiveness.

Note to Self: Find the least offensive way to say, "It’s not all about you." We’re so conditioned to a solo mindset—but we’re a social species! Relying on others is a relief, not a weakness. I want to feel the right words to help deprogram people—maybe I’ll ask around.

Note to Self:
Figure out how to talk to people when they’re judging themselves or others. Need language that doesn’t feel judgmental, even to someone stuck in a 'judger' mindset. Not easy. I want to find the opening to help them hear where that voice is coming from. Any why it is there.

Note to Self:
Take more time in the hiring process. Being in a rush to hire increases the chances of a misaligned hire. It is disheartening to all parties to put time and energy into something and not succeed.

Note to Self:
Update our Corentus Delegation Toolset to emphasize that delegation isn’t just about assigning tasks—it’s an oppty to elevate thinking. Share the why to help others generate their own insights. Simply delegating tasks doesn’t elevate thinking. Take every opportunity to elevate.

Note to Self: Experience 'real' whenever and as much as I can. Went to The Ear Inn with a friend of 35 years to hear incredible jazz. Some of the greats were playing—real people with real talent—The EarRegulars. Nights like this in NYC remind me of the glory and beauty of experiencing what’s real.

Note to Self: Call my friends in higher ed. Beg them to prepare students to work in teams to tackle real complexities, ambiguities, and conflicts. AI will handle 80% of what’s taught now. The future isn’t just about AI—it’s about building teaming skills to handle whatever craziness comes their way!

Note to Self:
Roll out an internal strategic imperative to differentiate our client-facing talent from AI. Put in motion what it will take to amplify their abilities in curiosity, creativity, and caring to make real, authentic connections with clients—leaving zero doubt they’re unmistakably human.
