The money being withheld will add to the teacher shortage, loss of classroom para-professionals, cafeteria workers and learning loss for ESL and Special Education students. This money is required by law to educate students! Be prepared for lawsuits from parents and school districts.

High teacher turnover should be the canary in the coal mine considering that we work with children. If working conditions are bad enough to drive teachers out, how do people think the children feel?
We see it expressed in teacher turnover and burnout, as K12 workers had the highest burnout rate of ANY surveyed profession in 2022!
If teaching conditions are learning conditions, then resolving systemic factors that create burnout would improve the learning environment & experience for everyone.
