I'm about to go to a conference on diabetes in emergencies, conflict, disaster.

Have diabetes and ever been in one? Anything you want to share? I've been in earthquake. left the flat in a hurry with all my insulin. Luckily the building stayed up but otherwise I'd been cooked.

Let me know!

Sin taxes is a ridiculous term that public health and #globalhealth should have dumped years ago. Weird to see it keep popping up among VIP speeches

La 4ème Réunion de haut niveau de l’ONU a ignoré les besoins des personnes vivant avec un diabète. Faut-il vraiment en organiser d’autres, s’interroge l’activiste James Elliott.

Robert F Kennedy Jr declares USA "objects to the Political Declaration" of high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases and the promotion of mental health and well-being.

Also gets his mic cut when he runs over time #NCDs #UNGA

Not over the frustration that mention of type 1 diabetes + prior committments on diabetes have been removed from the #ActonNCDs political declaration #UNGA80

People with diabetes all over the promo material but we get removed from the Declaration to "streamline" it.

People with diabetes aren't pinning for the good ole days of #globalhealth. There were never good olde days for diabetes. We are languishing under a banner of #NCDs, now is as good as it has ever been.

It just needs to be better.

This is a nice study showing that out-of-pocket costs for diabetes technologies are associated with worse HbA1c levels.

I wish there were more granular data on actual costs and affordability instead of just bucketing 'reimbursed' vs 'not reimbursed.'
