My current guilty pleasure is, when walking the dog, not moving out the way of the person walking towards me with their face inches away from their screen. Then yelling LOOK UP MATE! when they’re about two foot away. I feel like a real world intervention.

Anxious people - what’s your go-to remedy for painful tummy? My kid, who’s had a lot of anxiety, is an in exam season, and the anxiety is causing nasty cramps, the worst they’ve experienced. Looking for real life suggestions, not Google results thanks 🙏

I’m rereading Peter Heller’s The Dog Stars, for the sixth time. Dystopia, with writing hints of Cormac McCarthy in the way he treats nature, and the laconic humans, that populate the story. It’s dryly poetic, profound and riddled with pathos. Paints a unique picture of a collapsed world.

I’m rereading Peter Heller’s The Dog Stars, for the sixth time. Dystopia, with writing hints of Cormac McCarthy in the way he treats nature, and the laconic humans, that populate the story. It’s dryly poetic, profound and riddled with pathos. Paints a unique picture of a collapsed world.

Woah, watched Bugonia last night. Great acting, mad and zeitgeisty plot with a decent amount of levels to it. Looks great, the film looks really glossy and old. Really enjoyed it.

Just finished The Book of Elsewhere, by China Mieville (from a Keanu Reeves concept). If you like prose-y speculative fiction and dark themes you might want to give it a go. I’m a big fan of Mieville’s, and this doesn’t disappoint. He’s like Gene Wolfe and Iain M Banks’ love child. Booktastic.
