Thank you everyone for a very successful Black Friday sale!🧡
By the end of things Friends With Death nearly cracked the top ten in satire and horror comedy, the only genres I really care about so I am pretty chuffed with that! Also 33 in British Horror Fiction is nothing to sniff at!🙌🥳 #authorsky

I thought I'd make this little video of my book repair paste making process with wheat starch & water, so you can know how to do it without possibly having all the right tools or exact measurements, because who has those things when you're fixing a century old book on the fly?!

I'm back at the library and term has started! Someone from another department came up to me asking about an old book repair, so I'm going to cook up some book paste and see what I can do!📚 (The process all starts with this wheat paste)

I'm going through and backing up old photos and I've noticed that every year I take some of my body for a "before" pic, and so far there has never been an "after"😅

I hope all your goals for 2026 are going swimmingly, and no worries if not, we've all been there!🧡

Personally I like my Grim Reaper with the skin on, get out of here with that boney baloney!💀

Coincidentally I have a book out with a pale-skinned Death, whose sensibilities can be compared to a mix of the Grim Reaper in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and Terry Pratchett. Consider picking up a copy!📚😄

Fetching books for students for the first day of term. Most of them are for the same two people, clearly they are going to be reading up an American Literature storm this term!📚

If there is one argument that moves me towards traditional publishing it is cover design, look how pretty this book is!
(If only I could keep my content but have the money to pay someone to produce such quality work) #booksky

Found a book from 1890 in the library store on the works of a guy called Sir Thomas Overbury. I like seeing people's writing in the book from a over a century ago.
Although beneath his cheeky-chappy smile appears to a kind of early "take my wife, please" joke, although I might be reading it wrong!😅

The person who deposited their book this way lacks discipline and disrespects library law, I don't think they could have learned a single thing from reading this book.
Or else maybe it is an ironic protest move🤔 #librarysky

📚🩹

A quick look at a library repair for a paperback book with a peeling cover and a split spine in the middle.
You simply glue the areas and wrap up with a support bandage and leave overnight. Then open it up to see if everything is set right!

I spotted this book on the discards shelf & it stood out straight away due to to golden insignia on the side.📚
Then when I opened it up I thought it was really weird that we had some random highschool's yearbook in our British library. Then I recognized Linda Cardellini and realized it was a book...
