- the album that challenged me until I learned how to love it

This Christmas, C. gave me the most wondrous gift I’ve ever received: a plaster replica of the Fragmented Head of Colossal Boy (Hellenistic Greek, 2nd century B.C).

Over the past few years, this figure has become my avatar and website icon because it captures the psychic shred of the 21st century.

Even though there have been occasional blips of vaporwave, goblincore, or whatever, I'm more and more convinced that movements and styles (in all of the arts) are a relic of the 20th-century.

Today I learned "solstice" is derived from sol (sun) + sistere (to stop) and essentially means "the sun stands still."

"With the internet, we cross a threshold into an otherworld. A.I. is like a creature from the otherworld who crosses into ours."

I love this piece by @defaultfriend.bsky.social about the need for myth to survive the digital age.

Trying to wrap up my Midnight Radio guest mix today. I think I have to cut this song. I love it so much, but it’s 13 minutes. So much real estate.
