He has power, he owns the judiciary the CIA, pentagon, FBI, stacked the military with loyalists. I don’t think it has sunk in - the US is fucked and there’s not a lot anyone can do about it.

However the pent up frustration of people on the receiving end of for profit healthcare have a legitimate axe to grind, with no avenues for justice through the courts or democratic means. Surprising it hasn’t happened sooner, murder in cold blood is not the way though.

Obviously the setting a random person on fire for nothing more than being asleep on the subway seems worse to me. I do not know if he meant to kill or if was a prank gone wrong or mental illness, in which case I would say Mangione was worse.

I saw a programme where a poultry farmer who owned tens of thousands referring to them as “the product” and “harvest” without even acknowledging them as a living thing. It’s so sad.

It is a symptom of a capitalist society that legalises and normalises exploitation of the sickest and most needy for nothing more than money. When the system doesn’t present you with alternatives (two party democracies) the anger and resentment of the haves by have nots will continue to grow.
