Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump.

Political leaders across the spectrum must defend it.

No boat crossings at all in the last 7 days.

The BBC hasn’t sent this to our phones as breaking news.

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

Labour too often seem to consider it a success if no-one notices their interviews. The insurgent parties only consider it a success if people do. The former just no longer cuts it in the attention economy.

I do wonder if Labour might look at the sorts of people dominating the discourse and dominating the content wars and maybe, just maybe, rethink the sorts of grey figures they routinely put up for interviews, instructed at that to be as cautious as possible. Things have changed. Their comms hasn’t.

Totally agree with this. Time and again people say things to me which is downright David Icke style stuff. Every couple of days I'm reminded that the formal news agenda of the BBC etc hides a completely different and subterranean world of pseudo-news communicated via WhatsApp and Facebook.
Again, I don’t think the government is taking seriously the extent to which TikTok and Instagram Reels are pulling people into a completely different (and insane) information stream
You’re all such Bluesky dweebs reading the MSM… the thing which, as an aside, that keeps popping up unprompted in entirely unrelated conversations is…. Keir Starmer’s plan to dim the sun.

I think the case for banning online political advertising is very strong; online is not only the modern equivalent of broadcast TV, it allows people to tailor different messages to different groups, which is something we should obviously be regulating in a democracy.
