Add to Liam Conejo Ramos and his family every person Trump has arrested and deported or intends to deport (Haitians, Venezuelans) though they are in the country legally, doing what they have been asked to do, often literally doing what they have been asked to do like going to court or interviews.
In 2025 Trump arrested and deported 230,000 people who were in the US. The US regime has significantly increased deportations using expedited removal, which again is contrary to the rights the US Constitution extends to every person in the country and is illegal.
Liam Conejo Ramos, who is 5 years-old and who was wearing a Spiderman backpack and a bunny hat (you have all seen the photos) when ICE arrested him, and his family are asylum-seeking immigrants. No matter: using the law Clinton signed to deport them without trial is illegal.

Expedited removal, which allows the US government to deport a person from the country without a trial, including an administrative trial, was introduced in 1996 in the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. Clinton signed it into law.

Expedited removal is illegal as per the US Constitution, which says every person in the US has the right to a fair trial. See Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments.

Redfern Properties' Tavata at 165 Washington Ave. was approved in 2024 and it is required to follow IZ v2. Tavata is not currently moving forward according to @pressherald.com and Redfern's principle because of IZ requirements, which were on the books before the project commenced.

The dates are important, and something to think about (hey @pressherald.com) here: Redfern Properties' (The) Casco at 201 Federal St. was approved in 2020. It opened in 2023. IZ v1 applied to The Casco.

IZ v1 from 2015, implemented by Portland, Maine's City Council and Mayor (not the Mayor you think ha) said 10% of units needed to be affordable to people making 100-120% of AMI. I'm repeating myself, but we're talking about IZ v2 from 2020.

Again, Inclusionary Zoning requires housing projects of 10+ units provide 1/4 of units be affordable to people making 80% of AMI. For a one bedroom unit, that means $72,700 for a single person. IZ v2 has been on the books since 2020. content.civicplus.com/api/assets/c...

I'm not going to bother citing a study to explain luxury housing ≠ affordable housing, because luxury housing ≠ affordable housing.
Again, building lots of luxury housing does not immediately produce affordable housing.
