On the 11th day of the 11th month, Longmont pauses to honor our veterans; those who answered the call, stood watch, and sacrificed for something greater than themselves. Your courage reminds us what service truly means. Thank you.

Mark your calendars: this Saturday (Nov. 15) from 10 AM–12 PM, I’ll be hosting my first Virtual Office Hours on Google Meet.

I’m not on Council yet, and this isn’t a city event — just me listening and connecting before I take office.

Thanks to Patrick and the Leader for reaching out! Over the next few weeks, you'll continue hearing from me about how I, and our new council plans to address the critical issues facing our community.

5 Questions with Longmont Councilman-Elect Jake Marsing
Jake Marsing is one of two candidates who won a seat as an at-large city councilmember on Tuesday night. We asked him and other candidates five questions about the election and the future of Longmont.

Humbled and grateful, Longmont. Thank you for trusting me to serve.

We’ll work together to keep Longmont affordable, strong, and welcoming for everybody.

To my family, team, and every volunteer—this victory is yours.

Now, let’s get to work building A Longmont for Everybody.

Two hours to go, Longmont! Do you know where your ballot is? We’ve got two more hours to build a city that supports working people. Get out and vote.

I’m a husband, dad, teacher, and 4th-generation Longmonter running for City Council At-Large. I’m fighting for a Longmont where working families can afford to live, childcare is affordable, & growth protects what makes us special. Ballots due Tues at 7PM. Drop it off today!

One of our community’s best traditions! Marshall and Rubble had the best time! Happy Halloween, Longmont! Ballots are due in 10 days!

I saw the inaccurate story on our finances. Let's set the record straight: I am a working dad, not a self-funder.

✅ 71% of support is from Longmont. ✅ 379 individual donors. ❌ ZERO corporate/developer PAC money.

We are a genuine, Longmont-funded campaign. Proud to be powered by our city.

What a day! Proud to stand with my community and declare that Longmont will have #NoKings

Thanks for being there, Kathryn. Honored by your trust!
Extremely impressed with @jakemarsing.bsky.social and his virtual town hall yesterday. Well spoken, well educated, great plans for Longmont. He has my vote! Get on those ballots everyone!

Thank you Rebekah. So appreciate it.
I heard @jakemarsing.bsky.social speak tonight at a neighborhood meet and greet and I feel confident in his capacity to serve as part of Longmont city council.

Yesterday, our campaign announced a cross-endorsement with Crystal Prieto! Crystal’s a lifelong Longmonster, mom, and tireless advocate for working families. She shows up, does the work, and leads with heart. If you’re voting for me, I hope you’ll also vote for Crystal.

Proud to wake up this morning and see our campaign included as the choice of Colorado educators in the @coloradoea.bsky.social voter guide. I’m ready to make our city more affordable for our teachers, support staff, and working families.

Today, educators across Colorado are #redfored in solidarity with the Colorado Springs Education Association as they face unprecedented attacks on their ability to serve students and educators. I’m proud to be a union educator and proud to be a labor candidate.

Tonight, Council ended negotiations on the Distel-Tull land swap. It’s the right call. We need local composting solutions, but not at the expense of open space or public trust. Let’s find sites that make sense for Longmont: transparent, data-driven, and rooted in community input.

Last week’s Pints & Perspectives showed how clear the choice is: Longmont can grow affordably for working families—or leave too many behind. I’ll lead with listening, courage, and action to build a Longmont for everybody. #LongmontForEverybody

When Patrick entered this race, I was impressed by his passion for giving a voice to those who needed one. Though life circumstances forced him to step back, his exit was a real loss for our community. I’m honored to share that we’ve earned his endorsement.

@boulderareaunions.bsky.social , represents the voices of working class folks that are desperately needed in the conversations facing our community. They’re the reason I got involved in this race. I'm honored by their commitment and support, and stand ready to fight for working families.
October 2, 2025 at 2:52 PM
We're in the thick of the campaign, and as voters turn their attention to our race, it's important that folks know not just where I stand, but who stands with me. I'm honored to have the endorsement of dozens of leaders and organizations who know my heart

More big endorsement news: The @workingfamilies.org and @workingfamiliesco.bsky.social is backing our campaign! This is another signal that we’re building a people-powered coalition rooted in working families, not special interests. Together, we can build a Longmont where every family can thrive.

I continue to be humbled by the support of regional partners who believe leadership in Longmont can make a real difference. Thankful for this letter from Lafayette Mayor J.D. Mangat in the Times-Call this morning.
