Last minute question for tonight @lewisgoodall.com and @maitlis.bsky.social - why are the Tory party allowed to say (and often agreed with by Bridget Phillipson) that they had a good record on education over the last 13 years, when the reality on the ground is things haven't got much better at all?

Rather than saying "think of your answer," train your children that when you point at your brain, it means here is your thinking time, get ready to answer. Reduce cognitive load and unnecessary instructions to leave more space for hard thinking and learning.

Had a brilliant staff CPD session last week on 'Captivating Communication' - essentially, it was all about how we use our voice to harness children's attention. It's amazing how tiny adjustments can make such a difference!

Our wonderful school dog Lucca passed her assessment this week... Now she's officially an Accredited Therapy Dog! 🐾 Absolutely love the impact she has on the children and staff. Every school needs one!

Someone pulled out of our house chain today 1 week before signing contracts. 5 months down the drain. Thousands of pounds lost. So much time, energy and money wasted. The UK housing market desperately needs reform @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

Controversial take, but I don't think Charlotte has "played" and "acted" that well. She's JUST become a traitor. She's done 1 thing - betray the sitting traitor. Not that great a game. She earned her loyalty as a faithful. That's easy. Minah deserves the credit.

Taught our Y5s all about Homer and The Iliad this week. The shock when Achilles murdered Hector and then dragged his body around Troy on the back of his chariot was epic. Got to treasure those moments.

It's amazing how much shouting out can change a classroom dynamic. Not only does it disrupt the flow of learning, but it slowly eats away at the culture of dignity and respect that you work so hard to achieve. And yet, it's so surprising how often it's allowed. What you permit you promote.

Went to school dressed in a giraffe onesie yesterday for children in need.
One boy said to me, "Sir, why did you come to school naked?"
I was confused, obviously. "What do you mean? I replied.
"Isn't this your natural skin?" he laughed. Then it twigged.
I'm 6ft 3. He thinks he's hilarious.
