An excellent last film of the #LondonFilmFestival last night - #Giant, the story of #PrinceNaseemHamed and #BrendanIngle.
I also highly recommend #Tuner, the #SurpriseFilm - a interesting crime thriller with #DustinHoffman and #LeoWoodall.
And finally, #APrivateLife, #JodieFoster.

An interesting look at prequels and #JamesBond.
Like Mr. Anderson, I rather like the three Horowitz Bond books. I love the original books and re-read them all the time, so it was good to have something more like #IanFleming than the other continuation writers.

What a fantastic day at the Women's Rugby World Cup Final on Saturday. Two fantastic games, and the #RedRoses emerged as #WorldChampions - congratulations

Nice summary - I agree there was a drop in quality in the 2000s. I would add Craig Thomas to the list - his #Firefox (turned into a Clint Eastwood movie) is often mentioned as the 1st techno-thriller. The follow-up Firefox Down, and my favourite Winter Hawk are terrific.

In August I decided to set myself the (potentially stupid) target of hitting 1,000,001 at #darts. Self-imposed rules:
- Play 501 legs
- Maximum 30 darts per leg as there is no point taking 20 darts to hit double 1!

I am clearly a poor darts player, so curious to see if I actually improve!

Is it just me or is the #Amazon #Kindle getting worse? My first one, with an actual keyboard, lasted for about 6 or 7 years.
My latest is now refusing to retain charge just a few months after the 2 year warranty run out.
I've hundreds of books on it, and they now cost close to £100! What happened?

Well done to the #RedRoses in the first game of the #RWC25.
A call out to #HannahBotterman. Absolutely fantastic to watch this young lady - a monster in the MOST positive sense of the world. Really loved watching this performance and fingers crossed things get better and better for #England.

A fine conclusion to this detective story set in alternate London. There is no exposition, just old fashioned police work to catch a killer. Lovely.

Just tremendous. Remember learning Fortran at University and COBOL in my first job. The trainer told us if we wanted we could make a career out of it.

Just caught up with this - a very good story so far.
I enjoyed @paulleone.bsky.social 's In and Out of the Reich, and this is similarly atmospheric.

Is #TheBear the best written show on TV at the moment? Realise this is maybe not the right question in the age of streaming but I've just finished series (season) 4 and WOW!
Brilliant characters, engaging storyline - just F****** great.

A good days cricket #TheOval yesterday to watch England India D4 of the #testmatch. Rather disappointing end to the day, and not sure I dare turn on the radio this morning.
Seems strange the test match summer is over on the 4th day of August. #Cricket is still a summer sport, right?
