Rep. Jacob Rosecrants
@jacobrosecrants.bsky.social
State Rep of HD 46 in Norman, OK, since 2017. Proud father to my kids, partner to my gal, and a diehard public school warrior.
What in the Kentucky Fried Jeffrey Epstein Files is going on in DC?? It seems to be a full on revolt by MAGA (& many MAGA electeds) toward Trump! And has anybody checked on the ketchup bottles in the White House?!*

*It’s now been 21 hours since he posted!

By reading the legislative tea leaves I can tell OK is fixin to attempt a “Mississippi Miracle” on literacy. As reading opens so many doors, I’m 😊 to focus on literacy, but I think retention in 3rd grade based on a test is also gonna be back in the convo, to my chagrin.

Today at the Truman Elementary Veterans Day celebration, we were honored by the presence of so many veterans, including Jack McHughes, who served on the USS Essex in the Pacific theater during World War II. Folks…he’s 103 years old! Thank you to Mr. McHughes and to all veterans of every era! 💙🇺🇸

I was honored to welcome veterans to a celebration in their honor this morning at Truman Elementary, right here in good ol’ HD 46! Mrs. Schooler (with me in the inset) & the kiddos did a great job! Thank you to all who’ve served our country in military service, and have a wonderful #VeteransDay!! 🇺🇸

As with most education-related topics, (this time regarding teacher retention & longevity in the profession), I often wonder WWFD (What Would Finland Do)? Here is what they do:

I was interviewed by Fox 25 the possible deal to reopen the government. My biggest issue is that we’re ignoring how we got here. Republicans (who could’ve negotiated earlier or nuked the filibuster to reopen their government) have put America in this position.

Just 👀 that a deal’s been reached to reopen the govt , & folks, it’s a compromise with a capital C. The deal basically guarantees a vote in December on extending enhanced ACA subsidies + back pay for furloughed federal workers. More details here: politico.com/news/2025/11/0…

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think MTG’s new tone is performative. I think her hateful over-the-top MAGA persona was. Hope I’m right, and if I am, hope that other MAGA folk find their inner MTG. 🙏

*She’s right again…ask anyone who’s taken the Heartland Flyer! 💙🚆

With Dems in DC fighting to keep healthcare costs down for millions, Rs seemingly unaffected that many (tons in rural areas) won’t be able to afford care (if ACA subsidies expire), & Trump (rightly) blaming Big Insurance (his “plan” is to send 💰to Americans) I’m curious…

Did y’all catch that pre-cold front sunset?? It was ALMOST as lovely as my gal Robin! 🌅

With Trump’s admin fighting a court order to use existing funds to keep SNAP running (funds every past prez administration has used during shutdowns), this modern take on Matthew 25:42 sadly hits hard! Christians who back Trump…plz holler at Senators Lankford & Mullin to end this govt shutdown!

After years of lobbying my colleagues at the Cap about play, recess, & the importance of physical activity during the school day (& HB 1493, my bill to set a statewide minimum time for recess to at least 30 mins, pre-K to 5th, currently in the Senate), I’m sure some of ‘em see me like this! 😂
November 8, 2025 at 2:07 PM
Few things in life put a smile on my face more than talking about the importance of physical activity & recess on a beautiful autumn day at the Cap! 😊

“You’re on your own.”

POTUS, probably.

🤦‍♂️

I’ve always believed patients > insurance companies, & my votes @ the Cap show it. Happy to be recognized!*

*Yes I photoshopped my current face onto it, bc I don’t want to catfish folk with my 2017 pic. Original (my 1st sesh, lookin’ bright eyed & bushy-tailed) is the 2nd pic 😂

The Red Pen of Truth delights in helping self-avowed Christian Nationalists (aren’t they supposed to ya know…not lie? 🤷‍♂️) like House Speaker Mike Johnson to stop lying to us!

I woke up thinkin’ bout partisan gerrymandering.

After Texas re-drew their congressional maps to favor Rs (ordered by Trump), Cali said “hold my organic hand-crafted beer” with the passage of Prop 50. While I’m for banning partisan gerrymandering, gotta love fighting red fire with blue fire! 💙 🔥

Shoutout to the investigative reporters who’ve been exposing Ryan Walters’ incompetence + unethical mess for YEARS only to be ignored by GOP leadership. Dems @ the Cap also raised 🚩& were brushed off. Most elected Republicans backed him or ignored the 💩. Remember in Nov ‘26!
November 6, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Let’s talk teacher incentives. Merit pay sounds cool in a press release but in practice it creates a toxic school environment as it pits educator vs educator, rewards test scores over actual learning, & ignores that every classroom, every kid, & every community is different.

Lookie there. 👀
The all-powerful Republican president (whose party took a beating last night) is telling Republicans to end their own shutdown! Told y’all…it’s a GOP choice to shut down their own damn government!
November 5, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Seeing a TON of idiotic culture war attack ads over yonder GOP gubernatorial primary, but last I checked, you can’t use 🍌 to pay rent, which is too damn high. Wonder what these wealthy dudes running for GOP nominee for Gov have planned to bring costs down on everyday expenses?
November 5, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Just a quick lil morning reminder that the ongoing government shutdown (the longest since Trump’s first term, and now the longest in history) is a choice for Republicans, who can stop it at will:

Congrats to Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected mayor of New York City! I completely agree with him when he was asked what the Democratic Party has gotten wrong: We need to bring back working folk as the focus of our party. Absolutely 💯!!
November 5, 2025 at 2:56 AM
Happy to see that people are engaged, but the geography/social studies teacher in me weeps when I see things like this! I wonder if any Okies called in to see why there aren’t any elections today! 🤔

⚠️Trigger Warning (if you’re a Christian Nationalist)

Those of y’all Christians out there who support this plutocratic regime, aren’t horrified that folks have lost SNAP benefits, and think being poor is a choice…Jesus Christ would like to have a word.
