Well, I would ... but it's a lot of work. And Kelly did such a great job ...
Thank you, Kelly.
Perhaps @jackmack12.bsky.social will chime in.

How do we not kick ass in Olympic biathlon? We’re really good at shooting guns.

Okay, that's good.
Internal White House meetings going on, like, "Hopefully the racism will distract from the pedophilia which will distract from the killings which will distract from the pedophilia again which will distract from the economy which will distract from the pedophilia a third time"

At every Olympics I covered (Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Athens and London) I decided to skip the Opening Ceremonies. Not much happens over five hours. Then I decided to go anyway. And it was always worth it. Can't really explain why hordes of athletes waving is an emotional experience. But it is.

Sen. Tim Scott, a Trump apologist and enabler, said more than he intended in his reaction to Trump's racist post on Truth Social: “Praying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House." In other words, he's seen other racist stuff, this was just the worst.

Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and The Band notwithstanding, I didn't understand how cool Canada was until I began watching the SCTV sketches in the mid-70s. Levy-Flaherty-Candy were all cool, but the coolest might've been Catherine O'Hara. RIP to a legend.

Oscar Isaac. But you probably already got that
Who does Jesse Minter look like? It's been driving me crazy and I can't put my finger on it

With "Melania" opening today--in theaters near you!--I'm speculating about which movie box offices our President will invoke as a comparison. I'm guessing "Gone With The Wind," which the movie will be, and "Titanic," the proper adjective to go with "Flop." Thanks for listening.

“I’m bloody grateful” would’ve been better reaction
Not to alarm anyone but Bloody Disgusting just released their Most Anticipated Horror Books of 2026 and called me “one of the brightest horror stars of the 2020s” 💀💀💀 Grateful. So deeply grateful…

I think he’d have to hit Restart and it would work. Is that helpful?
Reading a novel by an author known for their impeccable research. A key plot point turns on a character being able to hack another's laptop simply by plugging a USB drive in for 5 seconds, then removing it. No other actions needed. Is this plausible?

First thought was that Trump and his crowd would fall all over themselves to call the exiled Gregory Bovino a hero. Now I'm thinking that they're going to blame everything that happened in Minnesota on him. With a changing narrative and rapid backpedaling, the search is on for a fall guy.

There is no reason you need to know this but I'll tell you anyway: I pay almost no attention to broadcasters on NFL games. I see the reviews afterward--"Brady was great"; "No, Brady sucked"--and I wouldn't be able to take one side or the other because whatever they say just drifts into ether.

So, help me out with this. My wife and I, figuring snow clearance is sufficient, go to the gym. But it's closed. Still counts as a workout, right? Thanks for your attention to this matter.

The Affleck-directed "The Town" has joined my list of movies you have to watch all the way through no matter when you catch it.

As was just pointed out to me ... my post about years ago misidentifying ex-NBA owner Ted Stepien as being dead when he was alive contained the spelling "Stephen." Auto-correct I did not detect. Good God, I continue to defame the man after his real death.

It is. Auto correct I did not detect. I’m still defaming the man after his death. Good pickup
Isn’t it “Stepien”?

Drives me crazy how the media headlines Supreme Court news. "Court Upholds Limiting Trump Power." "Court Backs Trump on Immigration." Whatever the headline is. But there's not one homogeneous Supreme Court. There are three separate Supreme Courts. The JSK Court (Jackson/Sotomayor/Kagan).

Ted called the SI switchboard to inform us that he was not, in fact, deceased. I happened to be in the office. When I was told who was on the phone, my first words to Ted were, "Where are YOU calling from?" Points for quick thinking, demotions for inaccurate reporting.
2007? No way I woulda guessed this century
January 21, 2026 at 7:02 PM
This has nothing to do with your post, Kelly, but thought you'd enjoy it. My worst journalistic mistake was writing the line "The late Ted Stephen" when he was still alive. He finally did die (as do we all) in 2007. Thanks for listening.
seriously stop writing about ex-NBA owners

Let us turn to "Hamlet," now that our president believes there is something rotten in the state of Denmark.
"That one may smile and smile and be a villain."
"When sorrows come, they come not single spies. But in battalions!"
"Madness in great ones must not unwatched go."

The Atlantic has a story headlined "What Happened To Pam Bondi," in which the writer expresses surprise that she has turned into a Trump Yes Woman. Really? The naïveté showed by so many talented journalists sometimes astounds me. Pam Bondi is EXACTLY what we thought she would be when named AG.

Probably still my favorite quote of all-time. Say it to my wife even when it makes no sense in context.
Be on the lookout for specific motherfuckers.
