You are correct. Also because they’ve achieved some sort of status - wealthy, a celebrity, landed gentry, the boss etc, it lends them some sort of credibility, eg ‘What??? Savile?? Him off the telly? Does all that charity work? Him? No way!!!’

She had rights to appeal until 2024. Just because she’s not directly mentioned in the document doesn’t mean it’s not potential evidence against her

That is the issue. If AW testifies, whether voluntarily or otherwise, why aren’t others being held to account? In a way, the UK has sought to penalise AW & PM (though not far enough, you might say). Plus it’s only a British woman currently serving any penalty in the US.
