Nerd, father, husband. Fascinated by pieces of nerd history. I love sharing and discussing old GW stuff, retrogaming, comics, etc.—basically, anything that makes me feel nostalgic.
Yesterday someone DM’d me with an interesting question: why do I share photos and content from old White Dwarfs and classic GW manuals?
Sure, it’s because I genuinely love them — but also because they’re historical records.

Ian Pickstock brings the Imperial Guard Basilisk to the tabletop. Earthshaker shells and steel discipline—the Guard never looked so mighty. Still one of the best tank kits of its time.

Gav Thorpe dives into Necromunda: Outlanders—Ratskins, Wyrds, and the zealous Redeemers bring chaos to the underhive! Still remember building those barricades from sprues and card. Real hobby grit.

Nothing says mid-’90s 40K like these ‘Eavy Metal-painted Stormboyz, boot-polished and ready for takeoff. Those red-tipped rokkit packs were peak Orky engineering! Damn, I miss so much the red-epoque

A classic 2000-point Eldar host from the glory days! Eldrad Ulthran himself leads the warhost — Dark Reapers in black, Howling Banshees in bone-white, and Swooping Hawks poised to strike. The perfect blend of grace and power from the golden age of Rogue Trader-era armies.

Skavenblight Scramblers Hit the Pitch!

Gary Morley’s Skaven team scurry onto the Blood Bowl field — lightning-fast Gutter Runners, warpstone-fueled madness, and that classic green-and-orange paint scheme. Still one of the all-time great team sculpts.

I'm totally in love with old miniatures ads. This time the objoective of my love is the new plastic Eldar Guardians box set — sleek, alien, unmistakably 2nd Edition. Those yellow suits and spirit-blue helms became instant icons of the 1990s tabletop.

Building an Empire Army (Nick Davis’ Guide) 1/2

Every Empire player started here.
1,000 points of halberdiers, Reiksguard, and a Helblaster that always misfired on turn two.
“Baron Viedt’s Border Guard” — still one of the best beginner army articles ever written.

You know you’re an Oldhammer veteran if you still quote:

“No city, not even the ingenious ramparts of Miragliano itself, could defy Borgio.”

We miss you, Borgio

In November ’96, a new Bretonnia Army came out for WHFB fans. I always played Greenskinz, but I clearly remember how fascinated I was by the new Brets miniatures and lore, which was deeply explained in this WD issue. And overall, they were completely OP

What I loved most of old WD was the "narrative flavour" of every post/article. I still read WD every month, but I find that the modern style dosn't fit properly the narrative and passion mood of older publications. (nostalgic pics from '96 WD)
