The superiority I feel when I'm at the sandwich shop and my name gets called and I have to say, "excuse me" to the people waiting in line to order because my sandwich is ready and their sandwichs haven't even been conceived yet, it's really unmatched. Peasants.

Am continuing long project of writing literary guidebook to Thomas Pynchon's 2006 novel Against The Day. About 1/3 done. Every time there's an allusion to Infinite Jest (and there have been several!) I can feel one of the wires in my brain short out and I briefly smell smoke
