I always wondered whether there was a way to distinguish these intentionally made flints from those that occur naturally when rocks break.

The tools I use the most in I Write Like are:
- Read aloud to listen to my text
- Readability to see how easy it is to read
- Transform to get rid of extra lines & apply other bulk changes
- Word frequency to make sure I haven't overused a term
- Style analyzer for fun and inspiration.

Exactly. This is what Chekhov meant, but his idea was later condensed into the phrase “show, don’t tell,” which sounds neat but is confusing.

Honestly, my loudest thought is -- how come a human mind can knit together so many symbols, thoughts, and perfectly right words for things that I didn't even know could have a name. It's absolutely brilliant, Jen.
