My reconstruction of the Algerian site of Ain Boucherit (2.1 Ma), a commission of Museé National du Bardo of Alger.

This is possibly the oldest site with human presence in all Northern Africa.

This is wild!🧪 Two very different hominin species (Homo erectus and Paranthropus boisei) potentially coexisting and maybe interacting in eastern Africa, ca. 1.5mya, as suggested by different gaits seized in footprints. This whole thread by the lead author of the study is very informative.
