Super Mario World is a fun game on its own, but it’s also very easy to just jump into whenever, which lends itself to multiple playthroughs. It’s also a HUGE game with so much content while not being intimidating regarding the time you have to play. One of the greatest! 🤌🏼 Like Super Mario World, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is gigantic, but not so huge that it’s daunting to get into. Gameplay is simple to learn and fun to master and the entire soundtrack SLAPS. Plus the story/lore elements and art is fantastic. The best 2D Sonic game, hands down. 👌🏼 This game. I love this game. It’s almost the perfect game. And yet I have a very weird relationship with it that’s changed over the years. I still love it, but as I’ve gotten older and replayed it so often, I almost feel melancholy that the experience isn’t “new” anymore. I’ve actually taken a break from playing it, hoping that feeling (or something similar) might return one day. ROM hacks have definitely helped fill that void though! So many great takes that almost make it feel like a new game. ESPECIALLY B3313. It really personalizes the SM64 experience. Metal Gear Rising kicks ass. Like SO MUCH ass. This is probably the easiest one to replay since the game itself is only a few hours long, but every time I play, it leaves me wanting more. Gameplay is fun (if not a little repetitive), and the edgy characters and blasting buttrock soundtrack are a guilty pleasure. Every fight is its own set piece and has over-the-top spectacle. Did I mention this game kicks ass? Also, the final boss gets more characterization and is a more fully realized character in the 5-10 minutes you’re with him in total than some characters are after an entire season of TV lol.
