Spot the difference! This is how I spent my birthday - and without a visit from one of my longest-standing friends, it would have been just the birthday in Animal Crossing 🥰 both were appreciated, but I feel so very lucky to have a friend who cares enough to come a long way just to spend time w/ me!

Despite nightmares last night basically centring around people being awful to me, I braved the outside world and introduced Kimberley and Lillian to Alnwick (and Barter Books of course!) never tried the elderflower mead but got high hopes for it...

Tonight I went with one of my dearest friends to see John Tams perform, and now I can say I've heard him sing "Over The Hills And Far Away" in person. A truly wonderful gig and I'm glad I went.

Visited Tynemouth Castle & Priory today. Got in for half price because they're doing some conservation work - definitely a bargain!

Had to go get a blood test today, so made a Thing of it and went to a couple of shops too. Can tell it's spring - a bit cold on the way there, bit warm on the way back 😅

My first gig in (I think) 5 years was definitely a success. Stressful but worth it. Saw Lordi with support from Sick 'n' Beautiful, and glad I did! Also stopped by the merch booths.

Just got home from almost 5 days out of the house including a meetup in Manchester at which I met so very many people I only knew online and (despite it being *massively* difficult) I'm very glad I did...

Went to Gosforth today so of course I had to stop by the graveyard. There's probably a holy/holey pun to be made about the gravestone, but it's almost certainly not worth the effort it would take for me to think it up.

Went out for a walk in my local area today. So much history here - particularly around the birth of the industrial revolution. (Typically, I decide to photograph Dial Cottage when it's being worked on; hence the scaffolding)

Saw Tynemouth from a new angle today. Decided to go for a wee walk there, and realised I'd never seen the views along the river.
