If vocals have noise from shit preamp (focusrite 2i2 on sm7b), this chain will make the vocals sound worse. Saturator and 20k boost EQs will boost exactly that crappy noise.

Important note: this won’t save badly recorded vocals. If they’re too quiet or noisy, no chain will fix that. They need to be clean and properly recorded through a quality preamp. If they send you shit stem, ask them to make a new recording or decline service…

Some producers put a light compressor first in chain on vocals. Not wrong, but I think a clipper does a better job catching peaks. Then I finish with an LA2A or 1176 as a last thing in the chain, depending on the vocal.

I hate it so much that I'm looking to crack all those plugins so I can use them without iLok and internet. Its impossible of course but you get me...

Two full days wasted reinstalling a hundred plugins for nothing.
I get why iLok exists, but when it starts glitching and I don’t realize it’s the problem, it turns into a nightmare. I end up deleting services, reinstalling everything from Neural DSP, UAD, Waves and a ton of other plugins, only to discover at the end that iLok was the thing bugging out.
