Today marks 20 years since #HurricaneKatrina made landfall. The devastating hurricane led to one of the worst disasters in U.S. history.

The recently terminated EPA grants were an opportunity to support communities vulnerable to natural disasters.

When the U.S. EPA unlawfully terminated critical environmental justice and climate grants, they also terminated 87 projects reducing flood risk in their communities.

According to the IEA, 2024 had the largest increase ever in global energy demand—due partially to climate change. This makes renewable energy critical for communities.
