#Creative #Thinking is key to complex problem solving (and also a lot of fun). How can we assess its process? Well, now we can! A new paper from my lab presents a validated and interactive tool for that purpose. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti..., roll.net.technion.ac.il
Measuring the iterative process of creative thinking: Uncovering the interplay between divergent and convergent thinking
Assessments of Creative Thinking often treat divergent and convergent thinking as separate processes, failing to capture their interaction within iter…

We under-appreciate the conformity of #GenAI. It uses a statistical model to predict - naturally it will prioritize the most common and banal responses.

I am particularity happy about our recent #publication in #Instructional #Science: a well explained null result. Should teaching begin with open questions or closed examples? It may not matter much, as long as materials are good and engagement is supported. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

#Inquiry #learning is challenging for learners... and interpreting it is hard for researchers. How does productive inquiry look like, and how can we identify patterns across simulations? some answers in our new paper published in @IJAIED. link.springer.com/article/10.1...
Different Topics, Similar Patterns: The Consistency of Learners and Learning Across Interactive STEM Simulations - International Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education
Inquiry-based learning with interactive simulations is widely used in science education. However, learners often struggle to engage productively and benefit fully without appropriate support. To provi...

We want learners to be better scientists. We want to give learners agency over their journeys. How? Here we design a #LearningAnalytics dashboard that visualizes to students the traces of their scientific inquiry. Reflections, wisdom, and happiness guaranteed :-) rdcu.be/eylhC

#Learning scientific reasoning is challenging. In a new study we show that letting students explore first - before guidance - may have short-term costs, but helps learners become much better scientists in transfer tasks. rdcu.be/euJCV

What good is a social network or Hannah Fry is not in it?
And what good is this post if Fry cannot read it?
If a post appears in the sky and no one reads it, is it still social media?
