Travel always adds new memories for archiving. Wandering on a bright summer afternoon in a large park that was almost empty. The sun and the light breeze creating the perfect conditions for a leisurely stroll. An ink painting to capture an almost perfect memory.

Grandma Moses started painting later in life and has left an impressive body of work. I love these stories of people finding their joy late in life.

It’s gives me a happy high to see my creation framed. Creating art feels like a sacred transcendental joy that is unexplainable.

A way to connect with my mother. A fragment of my memory that I suddenly felt like painting at this hour. Grief comes in waves. It doesn’t matter how long they have been gone, the void grows and shrinks during different phases.

I had the most fun conversation that lasted for an hour with a fun elder at the park today. We were talking about history and he pulls out a paper with handwritten notes and anecdotes. I love these impromptu conversations. I need more inter generational conversations and friendships in life.

Had fun sketching this with colour pencils last night. A copy of the Jen Mazza oil painting. The original one is amazing.

Less is more.
If you want to feel more productive try having fewer priorities. Pick a handful of things that matter each day. Literally, no more than five. And make sure they get done. Having long to-do lists can feel productive but it’s really an illusion.

At the Klint and Mondrian exhibition, wondering how the path to old age will unveil. It’s an amazing exhibition. A good learning tour for artists to think beyond shapes and forms.

Today’s acrylic abstract. I wanted to paint a pastel skyscape and ended up painting this. Much like life, paintings have a life of their own. What wants itself to be exorcised out of the deep wells of the being is always unknown.

This Walt Whitman quote always comes to mind when nature shows up to heal during difficult times.
