The crazy assortment of things you need (or not, lol) aside, Bikeary provides a safe environment to explore cycling. If not that, a cool refuge in between commutes! A real gem to the bike community.

🥹 Happy to see open spaces like Greenfield that allow people to simply be - sit, gather, play. Too often, open spaces come with restrictions driven by security concerns. Small things like this definitely go a long way in making our life in Metro Manila better ✨

Valenzuela has been consistent in building parks for its residents and, like Marikina, has made good use of its waterways to improve livability.

People shouldn’t have to leave their city just to enjoy green space, and Valenzuela is definitely on that path.

The minor cost of fitness: Everything hurts 😅

Definitely worth it, but the soreness was already getting in the way of activities. So, I finally gave in to IG ads 📺

🤯 TIL you can distract the nervous system to reduce pain and improve mobility

Tomas Morato has come a long way. While still car-dominated, sidewalks are noticeably wider, well-lit, and people-friendly.

It shows what’s possible when a local government treats active transportation as a real deliverable.

I tried #Moovr for the first time to get around BGC and it’s perfect for traveling across long-ish distances fast. Well, if only I located a docking station before kicking off

and no, you can’t drag it around parks and buildings looking for a dock - it’s sets off an alarm 🫠

There’s no question that government processes can be improved. But the more urgent issue is road safety; the real threat to society comes from unsafe driving behavior. That’s where conversations needs to focus.

After seeing how misinformation has distorted public discourse over the years, it feels important to say that, in an age of rapid sharing, pausing to verify and add context before posting matters. Even unintentional misinformation can harm public trust.

Filipino concern over online disinformation hits record high – Digital News Report 2025
A record 67% of Filipinos say they are concerned about online disinformation. Political actors are seen as the top source of falsehoods, above influencers and journalists.

1/x: Things I learned from Taipei (and it’s really basic):

Dead space is a design choice. Spaces beneath rail lines and bridges can be useful when design is intentional + people-centered #Placemaking

Alleyways usually get a bad rep, but Taipei has a really good alley game ✨ and it’s fantastic for mobility. It feels organic to their culture and built environment: clean, well-lit, with constant eyes on the street that make them safe and functional.

✅ Resting allowed.

This is what it looks like when a city designs for people: basic seating areas where you don’t need to spend to meet friends and where resting is not a crime.

The magic ✨of people’s streets!

No such thing as going solo, thanks to friends who love urban living. When made more inclusive, streets truly bring communities together.

There’s something about the energy of terminals ✨Once in a while, when done right (or better), it’s this beautiful chaos of moving people across cities. Here’s hoping for more terminals built with the welfare of people above all else.

🫡 QC made the sidewalks adjacent the Elliptical Road people-friendly by simply allowing life to happen ✨ The raised, dedicated bike lanes doubled as buffer against high-volume, high-speed traffic.

Smart cities, after all, is all about making the ordinary, daily life easy 😉

I’m pretty vanilla in most things which, incidentally, includes my preference for vanilla ice cream. Over dinner I was asked what I wanted for dessert, so I picked vanilla. When it arrived, I had a choice of three toppings. The irony 🫩

My favorite bike commuting sensory experience: The sweet smell of chocolate as I pass this segment of EDSA.

For better or for worse, I love the uncontrolled, people-led, and sensory-overload that is Metro Manila. Yes, tough to see through it all but it’s there ✨ not to romanticize; instead, know that, as a metropolis, we can offer a vibe that is uniquely us!
