So apparently today is kind of a big deal for the Blue Jays. When I think of baseball I think overpriced beers and nothing happening. But today I wanted to watch. Can’t stream live tho so I’m watching the mlb game day app update. Baseball is boring. Text baseball is REALLY boring. But go Blue Jays?!

My country’s postal service is basically bankrupt and the workers are striking for a living wage. My family is blaming unions for being greedy despite *flails wildly* all this (housing crisis, food banks overrun by demand, no jobs for teens…) then in the next sentence defended Musk and Bezos.

I think one of the greatest dangers we are facing now is suddenly disillusioned MAGAs - something happens that causes their whole belief system to come crashing down, and they feel intensely betrayed and lash out violently.

It’s so strange. There isn’t a single mention of the shooting at the Mormon church on my Facebook which had been flooded with posts after CK. Is it because evangelicals don’t consider Mormons Christians? Or because the shooter is MAGA?

Interesting how yesterday they were saying the democrats need to be listed as a terrorist organization. So was this the first troll terror attack? The fact that there are people whose political affiliation is troll is just… America is a very strange place. As always, I prefer cats.

The fact that I didn’t even realize today was 9/11 until I saw Kamala post about it speaks volumes. Patriotism in 2001 meant US vs them, an external enemy. Now, the most defining part of American identity is that the hated enemy is its own people. Patriotism seems more about race than country.

And in a similar vein of thought, how did America go from viewing itself as the dream, the best country, the pinnacle of humanity to becoming a country that appears, to an outsider, where everyone hates 50% of their own population. Can you really be a patriot if you hate half of your country?

Admittedly, I had no idea who Charlie Kirk was prior to his murder. I read his wiki and everything seemed focused on conspiracy theories and divisive takes. But people on FB are grieving like they lost a wonderful man. What did he do that was good? I’m legit confused.

It’s that time of year again! The goosey family reunion! We normally have 2 geese for most of the summer but every August they use my yard for their cookout. The cats are so excited!! #catsofbluesky
