Frank Gehry designed IPAM’s home, the Portola Plaza Building, between 1973-1975. His last visit was in January of 2022, when he toured with IPAM directors Dima Shlyakhtenko and Christian Ratsch, who described him as “curious, supportive, and passionate.”

Machine Learning - Brunton & LeCun & Noe - Sept. 2019.
Physicists worked with ML in a 12-week program with Steve Brunton, Yann LeCun, and Frank Noe. It inspired new workshops at IPAM at UCLA exploring how natural organization can inform ML algorithms. Check out upcoming workshops: www.IPAM.UCLA.edu
