I wrote about donation and literacy initiatives in rural & urban slums in Ghana years ago. Those write-ups won me the 2023 Doris Gregory Memorial Scholarship from the New Mexico Press Women Association with a perfect score. The award also led to an interaction with U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury.
