The concept album is finally mixed! We've just sent it off to our mastering engineer to finalize the master recordings that will then be put on Bandcamp, Spotify, and CD! To celebrate, here's the artwork for Loki, sung by Caleb Spitzer, and drawn by Olga Wieszczyk.

We're at the home stretch! Mixing is nearly done, just less than a dozen tweaks and then its off to mastering! Just recorded a short timpani part using my Malletstation to replace an old sampled midi part I had on there.

Say hello to Njord, lord of the Vanir. Performed by the incredibly talented Aram Arslanian on the concept album, Njord is a carefree individual, more interested in sailing and fishing and the sea than the pursuit of war and knowledge. Artwork by Olga Wieszczyk.

Mixing the concept album is coming along quite well. I expect to have initial mixes for all songs done by July 19, and my stretch goal is to have final mixes done by the end of the month, although that's a stretch.

Album art reveal! This was drawn by the amazing Olga Wieszczyk (insta: @olgawieszczyk), she did an amazing job, and I'm so happy I can finally show this off!

Picked up this book from Powell's yesterday. Might be fun to finally delve deeper into the myths that our story is based off of, as well as learn more from my Finnish and Sami brethren!

We finished the last character, the Jotunn Leader, last Friday. Zachary Lenox provided his epic bass voice to this role. There's just a couple more loose ensemble parts I'm waiting on, then the recording will all be done!

Music video is finished editing! We also got another ensemble singer recorded, plus two more singers are scheduled over the next week. Mix for first single is being finalized, and should be sent off to mastering soon. Progress is happening!

Recorded another character yesterday! Ashley Song did a fantastic job with the Journalist, the only spoken-word character in the musical. Now we just have to record the Jotunn Leader (a bass role) as well as several minor ensemble parts. Getting closer step-by-step!

Throwback to 2014. Even though I had a dedicated pianist on the concept album, I did record a couple songs on piano myself, this one included. I miss that basement apartment!

Small gear-related update - finished refurbishing these JBL 4410a speakers, which I will be using to mix most of the concept album with. They sound amazing; this video doesn't do them justice, but here's them playing an excerpt from song #13, "Now is the Time."

Welcome to the bluesky page for the rock musical "In Odin's Name!" We're new to this platform, so hopefully we can build up a name over here away from the Metaverse.
