what's with the vrchat model art style? yknow, excessive polycount but extraordinarily simplistic textures, just large patches of a single color, making everyone look smooth as hell

i have a problem here. i only need 62 more points for the master tier of combat achievements (and grandmaster is never happening, lol). but every task i have left is either FAR outside of my skill level or requires another player. and i dont know anyone else good enough at the game for this. uhhhhhh

saw the marathon release trailer and thinking about this again. what happened here. why is every color so washed-out in the game that got attention for being so bright. why is the man 25 meters away already getting hard to see. if i am playing a shooter i want to see what i am shooting at

oh damn. the percentile-based ranking in deadlock, plus bigger playerbase with the latest updates, i'm up to mid-high ascendant now. eternus might actually be doable.
certainly doesnt mean as much as back when even eternus 1 was top-500, but still, itd be real cool to say i reached eternus
